A little something extra...

So a little personal history here...

I used to be very involved with video.  I loved making short films when I was younger and when I was 16 I worked for a wedding videographer for a few years (which is actually how I got introduced into the wedding business.) It was a wonderful learning experience. This videographer is now so so talented and I would highly, highly recommend him to anyone looking for a very talented, creative, and unique wedding videographer. His company is Ryan Southwell Films. Check his stuff out!

Anyway, I am by no means an expert with video, (which is why I don't offer it with my packages) but I do know how to put an amateur video together for fun (I do it with my own personal video footage.)  And it just so happens that I have video capability with my camera, so I snuck in a few video shots during Sarah and Michael's engagement session (and they had no idea. :)

So for Sarah's birthday (which was a few days ago) and an additional wedding gift, I made them this short little video to one of their favorite songs. I thought I might post it for some enjoyment. This couple is so sweet. The quotes on the video are from the bride and groom themselves (not from me).

Enjoy!

Last weekend's wedding and the stunning bride...

More to come.

Sarah & Michael

Sarah and Michael were so fun to photograph, and it's easy to see that they have a lot of fun together. Being one of Sarah's closest friends, I have seen this coming for a long time now, and I couldn't wait to do their engagements. We chose these locations because they represent the variety of things these two love to do together. They say they like to hike, bike, fish, climb, cook, sing, dance, and make each other laugh.  They are always on adventures and you can tell that they genuinely love being together.

A few of their engagement pictures...

Oh and one more thing.
I am throwing Sarah a bridal shower today and asked her fiance a few questions.
I couldn't help but share his response to one. It was too sweet not to.

 If you were to describe Sarah to someone who doesn’t know her, in just a few sentences, what would you say?

First I’d tell him/her that it’s a darn shame I only have a few sentences to describe how wonderful she is, but if I had to I would say, “ she is, in every way, the cutest girl God has blessed this world with. You could walk this world around 47 times and not find a more caring, loving, smart, and charming woman then Sarah. She is, in all respects, an angel, and I love her.”
Editing a wedding, and found this little gem. This little one happened to run across the scene right before I snapped this shot of the wedding cake. I don't know why, I think it is one of my favorites.

I love moments like that.

A little thought for the day...

Blessed be childhood,
which brings down something of heaven
into the midst of our rough earthliness.

Sarah

Another recent one! (I just might be creating a habit here... :)
And I just might post more of this session later...

Sarah is one of the nicest people you will ever know--not to mention gorgeous! You may notice her in some of my older photo shoots from years back when I would create a set and style and shoot just for fun!  You will probably recognize her face from many different photo shoots. I guess that just comes with being one of my very best friends.

Oh, and I love love her dress! It perfectly fits her and her style and just happens to be her very own grandmother's wedding dress.  Congrats, Sarah! I couldn't be happier for you!!

And I want to share a quick little thought...something I found on my grandpa's desk.

This is the beginning of a new day.
I have been given this day to use as I WILL.
I can waste it... or use it for good,
But what I do today is important,
Because I am exchanging a day of my life for it!
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever,
Leaving in its place something that I have traded for it.
I want it to be gain, and not loss;
Good and not evil; success and not failure;
In order that I shall not regret the price I have paid for it.
I will try just for today,
for you never fail until you stop trying.
